FREE Kayak Lessons for Your Child
Join us on September 6, 2025 for FREE Kayak lessons. The FREE lessons are open to all Portsmouth youth ages 8-14 who have passed an organized swim class or program.
Does your child already know how to swim and can you provide proof that your child has passed a swim class, then hurry up and Register.
To broaden participation by all Portsmouth youth, the Junior Paddle Paddle has partnered with the Portsmouth YMCA and the Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority (PRHA) to enable eligible PRHA youth to receive free swim lessons from the Y. This includes youth in PRHA community housing and youth participating in the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Get more information about the YMCA/PRHA Partnership here.
In order to create a terrific -- and safe -- youth experience on the water in our Inaugural year, we have only 36 spaces open this year.

Junior Paddle Battle could not happen without Volunteers. Want to help make kids smile?
We need On-Land and In-Water Volunteer Instructors. It is easier than you think. Look here for details on what is involved. We also need Volunteers to help with Check-In, Kids' activities and other positions. See the full List and Sign-Up here.
